The Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain 700-Watt Juice Extractor is an economically priced juicer that doesn’t skimp on features. Like the name suggests, it’s also designed with space restraints in mind. Its compact stature makes it easier to store and use.
Those looking for a sub $100 entry into the healthy and delicious world of home-made juices would do well to seriously consider this as an option. Let’s take a detailed look at it.
Design & Features
Entry level it may be, but the Breville BJE200XL is still a powerful beast. It is centrifugal in design and boasts a 700 watt motor that spins at a whopping 14000 RPM. This actually makes it the fastest speed in Breville’s juicer lineup, and allows it to extract a whole cup of juice in as little as 5 seconds.
If you find it strange that the cheapest option is actually the fastest, the difference is that the more expensive models have a higher rated motor – the JE98XL for example features an 850 watt. This allows them to maintain their max speed better when juicing harder produce. The 700 watt motor can be heard slowing down only slightly when dropping in large pieces, but it quickly returns back to full speed.
The BJE200XL juicer is a good option for those looking to save kitchen counter space. Its design allows it to collect pulp within the base of the unit, unlike most other models that have a separate pulp catcher attachment. The pulp catcher is large enough to extract around 2 x 16oz containers at a time.
Being entry level priced, below $100, the BJE200XL stands up in most cases to its big brothers, but one thing it is lacking is multiple speed levels. For this model, it’s either all or nothing.

Performance & Efficiency
While the feeder chute is nice and large on the BJE200XL, in some cases a slight juice spray can be observed coming from the top so you might want to cover it quickly. The pulp comes out almost dry to the touch – the juicer’s speed is definitely taken advantage of. Surprisingly, this speed doesn’t mean it compromises with noise – it’s actually on the quieter end of the scale. This may be due to the rock solid stability of the juicer.
It will demolish pretty much anything you place in the feeder, but being a centrifugal design at this speed, it’s not particularly well suited to juicing leafy greens. Those wanting to extract juice from wheatgrass would want to consider a different model, or buy a juicer specifically designed for the purpose, like those shown in here.
Ultimately, the Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain belies its sub $100 price point with its amazing power. It is one of the most popular juicer models today and it’s not hard to see why. If you’re looking for an entry into the healthy and delicious world of juices, or would just prefer a model with a space-saving footprint, you really can’t go past this model.
Ease of Use
The BJE200XL juicer has a 3” feeding tube that is big enough to drop whole pieces of fruit or vegetables in, even apples, as long as they’re of the smaller variety, so prep time is minimal. The parts are easy to put together and they can be washed in the dishwasher if desired. It’s also a simple task to clean, and its removable parts are dishwasher safe. And thanks to its size, you can store it pretty much anywhere.
